Absolutely not. PVC and CPVC cements use different solvents. Using PVC cement on CPVC pipe will create weak joints that can fail under pressure and temperature. Always use CPVC-specific cement per ASTM F493. The cements are typically color-coded: PVC cement is clear/grey, CPVC cement is orange/yellow.

CPVC expands approximately 0.063 mm per meter per °C of temperature rise. A 10 m riser experiencing a 50°C temperature swing expands ~31.5 mm.
